Operation Solway, Dumfries Gamers Club new escalation campaign is now under way. With a little help from the awesome folk at Warlord Games too. They sent us a starter set and some extra sprues to help all the beginners get underway. With most of the players being new to the game we held a few sessions for everyone to get their heads around the basic rules, Army composition, which the new app is great for, and time to get their basic armies painted.
We had good up take of players all choosing various nations from the Brits to Finnish, Japanese, German and Italian. We also had good support from the club with one table worth of terrain ready to go and another on the way.
The basic format of our campaign will allow players to grow their forces after each game, introducing new units, weapons and rules, all whilst having loads of fun using a great game system.
All the players have enjoyed how different it is from games like Warhammer 40,000 with its random activation mechanic, true lines of sight, and intuitive rules that are easy to pick up but will take time master.
